Let Us Introduce Ourselves

At Jorgensen Gibbons, our passion to help people who are injured and disabled is infectious. Through the years, our children have grown up around our practice, interacting with our clients and staff and have grown to love and respect what we do for others. Sharon and Lynn have been both surprised and delighted that their children have decided to follow their path to careers as attorneys so that they can use their talent and intellect for the benefit of the firm and our clients. They have invested their efforts, love and passion into their children over the years and that will pay off in spades as their children are the future of the practice they have grown.
Our staff is comprised of our family members and professionals hand selected by our family to form a team of caring individuals dedicated to our mission of families helping families.

The Gibbons Family

E. Lynn Gibbons
E. Lynn Gibbons decided to be an attorney after prevailing as the prosecuting attorney in the "Goldilocks," trial in Mr. Tom Haight's Business Law class at Seminole High School in 1989.  She earned her B.A. degree from the University of South Florida in just three years in May of 1992.  She attended law school at Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, FL and received her Juris Doctor degree in December of 1994 - becoming the first member of her family - male or female - to become an attorney in a family line that dates back to the Mayflower.  She was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida in May of 1995 and proudly carried her one year old daughter, Katie, with her to the swearing in ceremony.  She is also admitted to practice in the Federal Court before the Middle District of Florida.

She has limited her practice of law to the representation of injured workers, social security disability claimants and those injured in accidents resulting from the negligence of others.  She has NEVER represented an insurance company.  She is a member of the Florida Bar, The Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers, the St. Petersburg Bar Association Workers Compensation Section, and the Workers Compensation Section of the Florida Bar.  She has been Board Certified as a workers compensation specialist since 2002.  Less than 1% of lawyers in the State of Florida hold this Board Certification as the criteria for certification is very stringent and the test is extremely difficult. Her board certification was renewed in 2008 and again in 2012.   She has been certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a Circuit Civil Mediator since 2002.  Ms. Gibbons has not lost a workers compensation trial since 2008.  Her very first jury trial in a personal injury case resulted in a 2.4 million dollar verdict for her client.  She has settled multiple cases for over $1,000,000.00 - most recently a trucking accident that settled for $4,000,000.00.

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and relocated with her family to live the Florida dream while in high school in 1984.  She has been married to her husband, Shannon, for 29 years and has four adult children - Katie, Reilly and twins Delanie and Dillan.  Her hobbies include fishing, boating, snorkeling, cooking and watching her youngest son, Dillan, play college football as the starting left guard for Florida State University.  Her daughter, Katie, has followed in her footsteps - earning her B.A. from U.S.F. in just 2 years followed by her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law.  She has worked for the firm since she was 12 years old and has gone from doing filing and stuffing envelopes, to being a full charge workers compensation paralegal for a year before law school, to being a zealous attorney and advocate for her clients.  Katie has taken 7 workers' compensation case to final hearing since she started working as an attorney for the firm and has not lost a single case.  Lynn's oldest son, Reilly, played football for Stanford and then South Florida.  He graduated from U.S.F. in three years after retiring from football and attended law school at the University of Notre Dame.  He earned his Juris Doctor from Notre Dame in 2020 and began practicing in civil litigation for Trenam Law.  In 2022, he decided to join the family business and came to work for Sharon and Lynn at Jorgensen Gibbons, P.A.  He enjoys helping the firm's personal injury and workers compensation clients get the benefits and settlements they deserve.  Lynn's youngest daughter, Delanie, earned her A.A. from St. Petersburg College at the same time as she earned her high school diploma as she went to early college.  She graduated from U.S.F. with her B.A. in 2019 and went to work for the firm as a settlement specialist in the personal injury department.  She is now in her third year at Stetson University College of Law and will graduate with her J.D. with a certificate in Elder Law in May of 2023.  She intends to bring a new area of practice to the firm - trusts and estates - when she joins Jorgensen Gibbons after graduation.  Lynn's youngest son, Dillan, earned his B.S. in Management and Consulting from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame while playing football for the Fighting Irish.  He transferred to Florida State University in 2021 to earn his MBA and play his last two years of college football.  He is now the starting left guard for the Seminoles.  In 2021, he started his own non-profit, Big Man Big Heart, Inc. to use his name image and likeness for good and encourage other college football players to do the same.  He has helped raise over $300,000.00 to date for young people with special needs or suffering with cancer, needy youth and families, and even adults with ties to the football family who are struggling through debilitating injuries.  The entire Gibbons family has helped him in this endeavor.

She participated in the Veteran’s Law Clinic while at Stetson and was able to get 5 clients approved for 100% disability through the VA in just one semester at the clinic.
